Tattooed people always get butt hurt over this but it’s true for the most part .. every female I’ve encountered who’s covered in tats has way more baggage than ones without and it’s not even close .. piercings are the same .. major red flags

@jbtr503 only females? Do you think it's the same for men and piercings/tattoos? I've known people with lots of issues and tattoos and piercings, I've also known people that had 1 or 2 tattoos for sentimental/spiritual/special meanings. Thinking about it, most people...1 -
Men too for sure but it’s more rampant with females .. and because I’m a straight male who has to put up with it so I notice it more on chicks .. imagine what they’ll look like when they hit the wall a million mph and have these awful tats that say “live laugh love “

I'd rather have a tat say that then depict a skull with exploding brains, lol. Tats I don't mind as much but some piercings seem ouchy, like the ones that stretch people's ear lobe holes realy big. Or the piercings that have a chain connecting nose to ear piercings.

I was a sailor for 5 years. We all had nautical tattoos/ sailor Jerry flash art. It was a cultural thing. Why does this make me damaged?

I’ve met a lot of damaged people who wouldn’t dream of getting a tattoo. Q: What the main difference between people with tattoos, and people without? A: People with tattoos don’t judge those without tattoos.

I strongly disagree. In my generation, tattoos are almost universal. They have many varied motivations for getting them, whether others deem them substantial or acceptable. Everything you don't approve of isn't indicative of "damage".

Agreed, there are obviously many motivations for getting tattoos, but one the common ones indeed is rooted in childhood abuse: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s007370050018 …, https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10926771.2012.630340 …, https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/pmh.43 …, https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S016517811100446X …, etc.

My wife got her first tattoo at age 37 after she ran her first marathon. It is also small and discreet.

It's almost like people can do the same thing for different reasons

It may not be of the same caliber as a cardiac surgeon, but nothing dishonourable about it, and no violation of the Non-Aggression Principle...

My son came home from spring break with this beauty. He insists that it will be his last tattoo. I believe him. I also think it’s funnypic.twitter.com/dy6TYcWGwZ

Sorry Stefan. If you have to question the why of a tattoo, you just don’t get it. For me, I just like them. That’s all.
