OMG! I’m a 45 yr old single mum of 1, with a great job as a special needs teacher. Happy with my lot in life. I didn’t have my son until I was 30, choosing instead to focus on my career first.

I was in public school gifted/talented classes until 5th grade. Then they were demonized as being elitist/privilegey, the money was reallocated to special needs and we were all dropped in with the plebs. I was fine with it at the time, those classes were hard. Less so now.

What’s your beef with people being happy? Like, I’m happy working, I’m happy being home with the kids. Married 20+ years. My sister is happy and single with her kids. She’s a trauma nurse and great at it. My happy isn’t worth more than hers.
