There are different types of empathy... intellectual, somatic, social.. the ability to connect with others and feel their emotions (feel physical sadness when watching them cry) is part of what’s used to understand different personality disorders.

These personality disorders hold a lot of stigma and many times create misery for the person. If you’re struggling with aspects of one just consider yourself to be among the group of the successful elite who value ideology over sincere humanism

empathy - The ability to identify with or understand another's situation or feelings: synonym: pity. The attribution of one's own feelings to an object. the intellectual identification of the thoughts, feelings, or state of another person Many empaths empathize idolatrously.

The belief that high IQ people don't have empathy for low IQ people is false. High IQ people are highly rational, low IQ people, highly emotional. This leads to a common difference of opinion on many issues. That isn't a lack of empathy as much as a difference of opinion.
