I’m sure they would cover for men on mat leave as well, since men are gifted with babies at the end (without having to be pregnant, damage their bodies, risk their lives, lose seniority at work, and hear bs about all the time they took off). Just figure out how to make a baby.

Funny, I've covered a great deal of other women's maternity leave in my time hitting the ground running - in high heels - as a temp, than any bloke I know. I've been the one left looking for another job when the mother returned. Not their male colleagues.

In reality, employers give independent single women the heavy freight -- particularly that of women on maternity leave. I've felt the pressure to reproduce. Worst part was when I was around 40: There was no shortage of men warning me about my biological clock.

These cannot in the least bit be comparable whatsoever you’re talking apples and oranges If employers could force men to wear waist trainers then that would be an accurate comparison

I have covered for men’s vacation and bereavement time without complaint. It’s what you do. I never needed a maternity leave because I was home until my kids all went to school. Dress code is business casual, and I’m able to be comfy and modest.

All employers in the US are forced to steal labor from their non-diverse employees so that they can pretend it is being performed by their diverse employees.

And re article: sadly, high heels are painful and known to damage feet, sometimes permanently. I personally love them. But they are just not good.

In almost every office I've worked in or visited the women take their high heels off when they get to work and walk around the office in bare feet or stockings or socks or whatever.

What on earth is the problem with helping and supporting women when they have babies. Does the world not need babies, do we, men, not have a vested interest in having a future population?
