Their focus isn't on violence. Their focus is on what they perceive as the "enemy" tribe. There's no peace in a tribal world. And you might not have an interest in tribalism, but that won't stop tribalism from having an interest in you.

There's a reason for holding an ethnic group accountable for ethnic discrimination that happened in the past: it's for alleviating the present consequences of past discriminations. Considering an ethnicity responsible for positive things that happened in the past is just racism.
