Not so much, Mr. Molyneux. Our current base 10 numeral system is of Hindu-Arabic origin, as is the concept of zero. Additionally, we can thank the Arabs for giving us algebra, without which your internal combustion engine would never have come into being.

The word “algebra” is of Arabic origin, but ancient civilizations performed algebraic calculations (how can you build a Parthenon without algebra?). “Mathematics”, “geometry”, “arithmetic”, and “trigonometry” are Greek words, bc math as we know it was systemized by the Greeks
