Sigh Most of the natives had sadly already died from smallpox. How did they know which blankets were infected pray tell? Also smallpox doesn’t last very long outside the human body.https://twitter.com/CaliAtheist/status/1159665563792113665 …

Especially when diseases were being spread intentionally.Molyneux apparently believes never happened. "You will do well to try to inoculate the Indians, by means of blankets, as well as to try every other method that can serve to extirpate this execrable race."Jeffery Amhurst

        1. A significant amount had 2. The same way most would: take blankets from smallpox patients. 3. From memory it can take up to 40 days for blankets used by smallpox patients during their shedding phase to become uninfected.

How could they have been "intentionally spreading it" before they had a germ theory? When prevailing thought on sickness at the time was miasma theory. If they had intentionally been trying to spread it, they would have forcibly relocated them to white towns with outbreaks.

Could have been a few nutcases that tried to do it on purpose. Doubt it was a majority.

Remember that the Europeans did not know how germs worked until the mid 1800s/?
