FWIW, my mother wouldn’t have been her ‘happiest’ had she stayed home. Quelling her brilliant, educated, ambitious and caring soul would have been crushing. Her being employed allowed the 6 of us to obtain college degrees...not just because of $, but we saw her fighting Spirit.

  You forgot this part ~My mother loved me... She also started the Headstart Program in a new community, was a principal for 15 years at a low income school, was an advocate for special needs children and reared 6 children ~ A woman needn’t be confined to her home to find happiness

  I gave up my career when my son was born. During his school years I volunteered at my church and a local Emergency Room. My church job morphed into a work-from-home paid job until after his college graduation. He is a wonderful man who is now married to a great woman. #NoRegrets
