My mom flat out told me I was a burden. I will NEVER do that to my kids. They are a great joy. My mom even blamed me for my dads death even though it was a heart attack and I was only 6 weeks old.

I was always told in school I was such a burden, even my parents tell me how much I am. Then again I'm 24, living with them, and am constantly told that my dad was far more active when he was my age. At least I finally got a job that will let me move out.

Sorry to hear that.Parents in a way can be the worst kind of abusers because kids are so so dependent on them for every kind of support.

They aren't that bad, they're just... a bit misguided sometimes. I'd argue that they just don't want me to live less than they lived. My dad was a bit of a playboy and had charisma, I'm just kinda smart and the opposite of his outgoing personality.
