I find it amazing how people handle facts and statistics these days. As if it’s something personal, it’s just facts people. Embrace them and learn from it, they can’t hurt you, they make you stronger and more aware of the truth.

In Dr Warren Farrell and Dr John Gray's book The Boy Crisis they say that men fare slightly better at single parenthood than women but still nowhere near the level of 2 parent households.

Single parent males are older, whiter, less educated, higher earning than single parent females. Don't know how this translates into success as a parent. Would need to normalise for cause, single parent by bereavement likely to be very different impact than by divorce.pic.twitter.com/zO8B6pKrn9

I think the reason for being a single parent is very significant, like you said

Depends on the fathers. I think an issue is that our society over the last 20 - 40 had become so disjointed so many men dont know their role. They can often act like children finding new mothers rather than wives.mothers need to raise our sons better so that they're good fathers

My mum just bought some baccy back from Lanzarote for me and on the side there’s a picture a woman playing with her kid while her friend looks all gutted and then a warning about smoking making you infertile Thought it was relevant to the convo

Only true for non-Scandinavians. Iceland has highest number of single mothers, and doesn’t do too bad

An interesting case. I'd expect kids over there still do better with two parents in the home though.

Children living with their biological parents are proven to grow up as more well adjusted individuals. Just statistically.

So they can do the same sort of inbreeding and bad gene magnification with the human race that was done with the golden retriever. Brilliant.

Considering my father physically and emotionally abused me, I'd much rather be raised "badly" by my single mum

Men on discipline: "I don't want to, but I know it's for the good of the child". Women... "I don't want to hurt my baby...oh, just let him grow up rotten, he'll work out the rest later...I hope? *giggle*
