Well, because they'd been spoiled rotten and only cared about themselves. She worked so hard and gave them EVERYTHING, she was a great mom, and in the end they could barely be concerned for her. They cried when she was gone... but when she was sick, they couldn't be bothered.

You both might be wrong. Perhaps Mom didn’t want that. Hospice patients more often than not do not want their grown children tending to such things. It’s called dying with dignity.
