All of us are the beneficiaries of parents who at some point, in some way saw us as more important than the pursuit of fleeting wealth or temporary prestige. We ought all to be grateful that they did; they are wiser than many of us!

Well, you did goad them with facts and then you said things they don’t want to acknowledge. Denial is a strong human behavior - it’s what we do. How else can you explain religion, cults, governments etc. It’s why we have 3 generations of kids who grew up without their mothers.

While I agree and that is what my wife and I did, you haven’t made a through case. 1) should apply to men too, 2) what about women going back to work and corps saying they have no experience.

Women need to be able to take care of their kids financially if needed before they have them. Otherwise, they’re one man away from welfare if something happens, unless their fam has money. It also gives them more power in the marriage. No fault divorce made marriage a bad joke.

Living to 100 is becoming commonplace now. A woman can have her children, go back to school/start her career when she’s in her 40’s and still have a vibrant 25-30 year career. I wish I had done this but we were told we wouldn’t live past 74.
