The term patriarchy is not a generalisation of the behaviour of men, it refers to societal or institutional patterns that put women at a disadvantage.

Patriarchy isn't a generalization because it's not describing men. It describes a social construct that values men as more important & human then women. As Individuals men do not need to agree with it but our society is programmed to go along with it
