Actually when I met my girlfriend at 18 years of age all she spoke of was becoming a mechanic. She then went on to get a masters in computational fluid dynamics. Later in life she went on to work as an engineer for the Audi LMP team. They then went on to dominate LeMans

part of the wage gap has to do with women who opt to SaH and raise kids, starting careers later if at all. Puts them behind the curve. Did for me... wouldn't have it any other way. I know who raised my kids.

Only 50% at best will actually follow it as a career though, in spite of affirmative action in hiring

I doubt it. Seeing as they’re spending over 5 years studying for it and it’s an interest the majority always had.

I personally know female engineers and Male nurses. But that doesn't change statistics.
