Great guess; would even say it's the actual truth. People may not remember those career milestones for very long - but the plays their kids acted in that they missed to achieve those things, will always be deeply etched in their minds and hearts.

What I’ve found with single women friends that didn’t have kids is a deep regret... starting about 45yrs old and working into a sadness and loneliness every passing year. Those memories with children become golden compared to other passing ‘fancies’

I’ll be sure to tell my great grandmother, a stay at home mom who committed suicide after years of (unnecessarily) being prescribed Valium and other benzodiazepines. Her diaries directly referenced the emotional pain she suffered from staying at home all the time.

Being in a position to be able to make a choice is what matters. Being supported if you do make the choice equally important. Not an option for many women and a hard choice for others. Money can't buy the time I enjoyed with my children but financially it was hard work.
