Yeah I'll be 54 when my son turns 20, and I'm already feeling my age. My sister had her first one at 16 now she's 44 and both of her kids are outta the house with good careers. And her and my brother in law are still young enough to enjoy life.

One of the worst things you can do as a parent is to not take care of yourself and end up having your kids take care of you during a prolonged senility. We've been conditioned that this takes years and years, but this is unnatural and unnecessary.

It's surprising how early it starts with some. Many are not even "old." Just physically old with kids who are wasting their prime years taking care of them. It's a double tragedy and mostly avoidable.
