I have been following you for a while, but your stats are likely off base, everyone I grew up with and my hometown is comprised of working class poor, every single person is above average IQ while being a offspring of lower class 4th grade educated parents

You are exaggerating on the high end, most studies indicate closer to the mid 50% range with extremes in the high 70's, it also varies on age as higher age groups being in higher range while kids being in lower range, please cite the full picture instead of general conclusions

If IQ is all that matters... by all means leave orphans to fend for themselves. Yikes. I’m the giddily happy, grateful stay @ home mom of 6. 5 bio/1 adopted. One a genius, one developmentally delayed (not adopted!) Others on a variance in-between. Each a miracle.

the benefit of adoption is supposed to be for the child, or are the people out there spending all that time and money for selfish self-serving reasons (other than altruism)

Adoption ought to be about providing a home and life for a child without one. If you go in with the mindset of I’m childless and want a kid it’s a setup for disaster. Adoption is hard. The children are hurt and wounded, they need special care.

Adoption = Placing a higher value on someone else’s genetics. It’s been another propaganda campaign just like adopting dogs from shelters.

My sister and I have had 6 kids total between ages of 30-40. My mom had 4, the final 2 at 39 and 41. On the other hand, two friends of mine who started late were only able to have one and adopted the second. I think there is something to how long on BC and genes.

I’ve got no ill will towards him for it. Guy takes a lot of flak for his opinion (that is also fine), but I can’t wrap my head around discouraging adoption due to a dice roll of IQ.
