There are a large number of women who are unable to breastfeed *even when they want to* because they don’t make enough milk. There are adoptive/foster mothers who OBVIOUSLY can’t breastfeed. And what about single/divorced/widowed *fathers* who ALSO obviously can’t breastfeed?

Are there any other species where the genders just randomly change roles?
-
There are fish that not only can change gender roles, they can literally change their SEX. Snails, too. And female-only species of lizards. Homosexuality exists in the natural world. If your wife is really a biologist she will know all this, you can also google it quite easily.
-
Changing of the gender roles is the only part i'm asking about. Will ask her. She taught ichthyology two semesters ago so should be good on it. This is just such an obvious non-issue in humans due to lactation of course. So at least nature made it easy for humans.

Have you heard of breast pumps? And bottles? And formula?

Breast feeding is a commitment to strengthening your children’s immune system, as well as creating an unbreakable bond. The minimum we had at 16mo per child has ensured that they are hardly ever “sick”, no allergies, and are smart as whips. The time spent is worth it. Always.

I was lucky enough to pair up with a man that was willing to “bring home the bacon” and I “fry it in a pan”, adversely, when he was laid off and the babies were off the teet, I was working 12-16hr days in construction. Guess which role he and I preferred
