From a SAHM entering our 6th year of homeschooling, I agree. I am happy and enjoy being around my kids. It makes me sad when moms post countdowns to when school starts so they can "get their me time" back.

It makes me sad as well. I always think about how their children would feel if they were to see those “countdown to school starts” posts.

Stefan is trying to help young people. We are getting brainwashed by "think tanks" & Unis which tell us things like 'a career will make you happy' 'transgender etc' Family is where people get their deep fulfillment, joy and Love. You can only grasp this when you're older.

I wonder if he realizes that you’re just a counterpoint to a lot of the messaging modern women are getting. Listening to both sides helps. He’s right about exercising personal agency though.
-
Thanks Jeff. I respect that some people will want to have kids before any risks approach. This was more aimed at the freedom of choice, and that not everyone should feel pressured because of those risks. Everyone makes their own path and is right to do so

Absolutely, man. I love your message, doubling down on the reality that life is what we make it. We have choice. I'm also an advocate for individual agency, personal responsibility, independent thought. Choice always comes with the possibility of failure. Good to map out options.
-
Couldn’t agree more. Too many people are reading past my message and see it as a bit self destructive. Of course there still has to be thought and reasoning behind things I choose to do. I just like to make sure it’s me making those choices
-
Aye. I see Stefan's words on this as merely advice. Strongly worded (per usual) but not forcing anyone to act. Of course, we all view reality through a different lens. He counters the other side of the argument well, but his aggressive delivery can provoke all sorts of emotions.
-
And it’s all fair game. He has a right to do so in his defence

I quit my career to raise my boys. It was the best years of my life. To watch kids develop in their own person is a gift to behold. They're teens and they get a daily dose of mama smothering love.

Becoming a stay-at-home/work-from-home dad, in order to raise and homeschool my boy has been the best decision of my life. I can honesty say that ive never been happier....

Every parent - father or mother - should look at the amount of time they spend at work and spend just as much, or even more, time hanging out with their kids, educating them, disciplining them Nothing is worse for society than a bunch of socially isolated, ignorant brats

i worked from home for years and got to spend tons of time with my boys. i recently stopped working from home and its been devastating to not get that time with them anymore. and i'm sure a mother's bond is much stronger.

Over the years, I have noticed: if mama’s happy, daddy’s happy, kids are happy. That’s the hierarchy that works for my family.

Jordan Peterson expresses it better: you cant change millions of years of evolutionary code development for creatures to procreate and raise young, simply because you got a new idea once upon a time in the 1960s and 70s.

I’m a stay at home mom and I love it. I worked for 28 years now I am 45 and finally able to stay home with my last child she’s 11. I am happier than I’ve ever been, a better wife and mother.

Find another way to be invested in other people's lives. I think that's really where the happiness (and sanity) lies.
