Thing is, that post isn't even accurate. Go to Africa sometime and compare the cities that were colonized vs the ones that weren't. The former are far more advanced, especially when it comes to infrastructure. Without question those who are alive today are reaping the benefits

It surprises me to see Stefan saying colonialism was immoral, considering the resulting population explosion that followed in its wake and continues to this day. Population going up means people are thriving. And if colonialism is not the cause, what is?

Colonialism led Gene Roddenberry to create Star Trek's decidedly anti-racist Prime Directive. Under the banner of the Prime Directive we could prevent all foreign interference in Western culture without being called racists

Colonialism also stopped things like cannibalism though. And brought medicine and technology to said countries. So would you consider those somewhat redeeming qualities?

...but was there ever a time these countries were affluent? Was there a Time when their citizens didn’t live under the boot-heels of tyrants?

Colonialism was the best thing to happen to the world. What was immoral was stopping and expecting all these cultures to voluntarily assimilate to ours which is why white countries are being colonized and it will be unimaginably worse for everyone.
