The 50th anniversary of the Moon landing makes me quite sad actually. We can no longer match the achievements of the past. The best is behind us, ahead is only dissolution.

I'm rather looking forward to the zombie apocalypse. No need to keep updating resumes and dropping off dry cleaning. Life becomes simpler. Strong survive and the weak get eaten. Liberals should love that kind of New Green Deal. Except for the part where they get eaten.

Are they? Politicans are very good at explaining what they want to do but are usually horrible at explaining how to do it. NASA may talk big about going to Mars but they have been stuck in low earth orbit for decades. NASA is a lame duck now.

I don’t know I just read a article about quantum computing that was very interesting. The next achievements humanity will accomplish will be beyond going to a floating rock. Never forget the past but don’t let it blind you from seeing the future.

Also, even for such a momentous event in human history, they still cannot help but endlessly misrepresent, fib, historically revise and lie by omission. Over a week of recycled and constant coverage, not one single mention of the man who designed the rockets.. Hmm, I wonder why..

In one of the Chasing the Moon programmes on BBC4 it mentioned Von Braun several times and showed him explaining technological points to JFK

So it seems the regulatory environment and risk adverse culture makes it unlikley we will have a long term presence on the moon or mars. They restricted toy aircraft so heavity no sane parent will allow a kid to have one for fear of the entire federal govt coming down upon them.
