You do grasp the idea of colonialism Stefan, the corporation takes over a region, establishes a corporate fiefdom, forms the institutions of hierarchical control then abandons it to the natives. The objective is to establish the hierarchy allowing both physical & economic slavery

Spare me. Slavery was a worldwide institution until whites ended it. Whites bought slaves from the blacks who captured them. Historically, whites were the users; blacks were the dealers.

Why wont MSM put a spotlight on this contemporary injustice? Instead the focus seems to be on what happened 150 years ago.

You know who’s to blame for this, don’t you? Yep, that’s right-Trump.

I've got an idea. Let's ask the UN Human Rights Council about this. This is why I need a sarcasm font.

Pretty sure that slavery index does not include the most widespread 'modern-day slavery': Tax-slavery. Why not? It's all about perceptions. Bottom line, each and every time:

In fact, the slave population of the US at the time of abolition was 3.9 million making up 12.6% of the US population. Which I would submit are horrendous numbers, especially the percentage figure. Aren’t they more relevant numbers?

Molyneux's post is pretty much a non sequitur. Interesting stats, Michael - are the Caribbean Islands &c included? Reading: "Natives - Race and Class in Ruins of Empire" by Akala. Interesting viewpoint on slavery and the what (little) we learn about it in UK schools.

No, I believe these numbers are specific to the US. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1860_United_States_Census …
