And now that the House is under democrat control, there's even less chance of fiscal restraint.

Nah, it’s more like Republican politicians, like all politicians once they arrive in DC, join a different party from the one that got them elected. Rather, they now serve the Government Party in opposition to the citizens. AKA., The Swamp. #DrainTheSwamp

The fundamental problem is that career politicians, even Republican ones, come to see Government as the solution to any problem. Why else would they join except to “change the world”? As such they come into opposition to even the very ideals they espoused to get into office.

The truth is.. when it comes to spending, the entire Congress think they have the right & duty to spend like wild sailors. If it was their money, maybe they'd care.

Unfortunately true. One of the few things the Democrats and Republicans agree on is just to stupidly continue to raise the debt limit.

Nobody has ever literally cut any budget in my lifetime over 60 years. The second best thing they have ever done is cut the projected rate of spending growth, which is like fantasy football of budget cutting. The second best is to grow the economy faster than the debt grows 1/2

They both do it. They have no need to not raise the debt ceiling due to the fact that there is no way of repaying the debt. Unless you remove those to whom the debt is owed.
