        However, it's similar to Christiniaty in that it is comprised of numerous sects, which may be more or less extreme, and I imagine an extreme Satanist would have much more of a controversial element to them than an extreme Christian ever could.

        Doesn't democracy inherently grant freedom of religion? And also, I'm pretty sure most of them are just doing it to trigger the Christian segment of the right wing. I doubt most of them are legit satanists.

        I think you might have the wrong idea about Satanists. Their main philosophy is they are going to create their own morals for their own reasons instead of letting a church do it for them.
