A THIRD of children being dragged across the border illegally are not even related to their “parents.” They are kidnapped, bought, threatened, trafficked - who knows? A detention center is by FAR the safest place for them.

It's not entirely accurate to say that a third of so-called "family crossings" aren't really family. It's closer to 1/3rd of detentions. CBP, from my understanding, only detains "family crossings" when they suspect it's not actually a parent and their child. Others are let go.
