But you would still be burning people alive, using thumbscrews, iron maidens, and all other manner of horrors on people, if your religion had not been tamed by secularism. The moment those constraints are removed, it would be back to blood and screaming.

If Europeans conquer other Europeans, it is just history. The same if one Native tribe conquers another. Why is it "genocide" or some sort of atrocity if a European conquers a Native tribe?
