I've had this argument with people before. They've somehow reduced societal critical thinking into a popularity contest where whoever says the darndest thing wins. Sad sad state of affairs. Would've loved to debate some of these people pre-social-collapse.

If we were to believe who knows who's more trustworthy based on their amount of followers we'd be pretty screwed. We'd be outsourcing our morals to a generation of vloggers and realtv stars. I have 40 followers, try working at my level and you'll know twitter is a bad metric.

I’ve found that many atheists (not all) can be very nasty to people that they look up to when mistakes are made. My hypothesis is that they’re subconsciously looking for someone to worship as well. Xtians already have their deity so they forgive men.

I have found the complete opposite of this. No problems with atheists but lots of very nasty and vocal Christians, especially on Twitter.
