Yes, most people eventually come to this conclusion.
Most atheists are leftists, most agnostics are spineless, and other belief systems only have in-group obligations, not universal morality. Christianity is the closest thing to philosophy that I know of.

Christianity is the only non-transactional religion. You are not haggling with the gods to get something in return. You are saved when you admit you are not perfect. You are saved when you realize your sins and do them no more. You are saved when you confess your fuckups.
