Most of the people who have been kind to me as I have stood - sometimes alone it seemed - against the prejudices and hatreds of of the mob have been Christians.

Atheists have yet to find something stronger than biological evolutionary altruism as the basis of morality, and that does not give them the strength to stand against the mob. When I finally proved secular ethics back in 2008, I thought the atheists would be very happy. Wrong.

I've had this argument with people before. They've somehow reduced societal critical thinking into a popularity contest where whoever says the darndest thing wins. Sad sad state of affairs. Would've loved to debate some of these people pre-social-collapse.
