Seriously as soon as we found out we were getting deployed we had 2 females having sex with everything that moved and both got pregnant in time to miss the deployment.

As an Army veteran, I can tell you that happens right before every deployment. Suddenly about 1/3 of the females in the unit get preggo.

During Deserts Storm and Shield when based in Turkey, 1/3 of all women in our units became pregnant once hostilities began. This was not by accident & everyone knew it. If the Marines pass this policy, it will be discriminatory because men don't get leave when a baby is born.

Still happens in Air force. They will kick a guy put for missing rent payment twice, but these females who use pregnancies to avoid deployments and work are praised.

Women in combat is a horrible idea. War only breeds more hate of others, presents the worst in humanity at nearly every stage of it's use.

In yet another example of government welfare benefits for government employees that most people in the private sector don’t get. So nice when you get to use Other People’s Money to fund someone else’s lifestyle.

Diminishing recruitment numbers have forced the military to compromise on readiness standards.https://www.military.com/join-armed-forces/2014/05/14/80-of-military-recruitments-turned-down.html …
-
Keep standards high and just have less bases their is NO need for so many bases in the states we have way to many.
-
Some useful information relative to preconceptions.https://www.thebalancecareers.com/us-military-major-bases-4061575 …

Dude i am in military I know where we have bases. Also major bases is a misnomer. Even a semi small base costs millions upon millions to maintain and at least several thousand to man. We have forts and bases in so many useless places it is mindboggling
-
No disagreement from me that the military has a great deal of waste. They know and we know it. The bases often serve dual purposes as the economic engine of the communities they’re located in. The Hill article mirrors what many of us have been thinking.https://thehill.com/opinion/national-security/453486-military-spending-has-many-points-of-contention-closing-overseas …
-
Overseas bases we often habe 3 in one country no need for that. One is fine. Or make one multipurpose.

Indeed, we should extend this paternity leave to our men as well!
