After applying for over 30 jobs I still ended up with a job that requires lots of physical labor. I prefer the physical b/c I don't fall asleep but I'm now on meds to keep me awake and I want to find a job to test the meds so i can be off of disability.

Professionals in my experience have little effect in caring for the mentally ill. *Other* mentally ill people seem to have the most powerful effects. Namely we treat each other as human beings rather than a set of symptoms.

Increasing the number of care/talk/ support groups is vital to this discussion. In addition to long term care facilities for those with acute symptoms.

I have been through the mental “care” system with my daughter. There are more quacks and psychos sitting on the other side of the couch, than those on it. There are wonderful therapists, but I BEG you to take someone you know to go with you as an advocate!
