Regardless of how they self identify, the public always identifies anyone who is mixed race as black. So don’t act like they are doing so for some political advantage.

I upvoted, then changed my mind. I'm mixed race. Identifying as white isn't an option if you visibly aren't, even if you have a white parent. If you're black or brown there is however more advantage in playing it up than playing it down

I loathe identity politics. It’s fine they identify as black, but just don’t use it. I don’t care if someone is teet pink, as long as they do what’s right. I never cared what color someone was but they are trying to force me to. It’s evil
