        Science is for-profit. People need to realize this. If the government is handing out $$ for 'science' that portends catastrophe unless we give all our power to that self same government, then that 'science' will magically appear (and with gusto).

        There were computers ever since WW2. Now I can't say for certain whether any of them in the '70s were used for climate science, but my overall point is that any generation can say the science has come a long way.
