Worked for the passengers of the Mayflower.
-
Most of them died of starvation and disease. They had to cooperate with the indigenous people in order to not be completely wiped out.
-
The indigenous people took pity on the starving English and helped them survive the winter. Giant. Ass. Mistake. We now learn that about 20 earlier episodes ended with natives slaughtering Europeans on the beach, and they kept it up they'd still have a country today
-
No they wouldn’t, some other colonial power would have come in to take the natural resources. The Native Americans were geographically isolated and unprepared for weapons technology and the bacteria across the Atlantic.
-
I agree in part. Interestingly, the bacteria from the Spanish a hundred years earlier may have already wiped out >80% of the natives. Yes more Euros were coming, but if they could have picked up guns and horses sooner, more natives would have made it.
-
Agreed, see Eurasian horse archers who gave Europeans fits even after firearm development. The Native Americans at full strength may have time to improve their weapons technology to possibly keep their land.

I wonder what support there would be for the US annexing Central America. I mean, if we're taking the people, we may as well take the land and resources too.

No I can't. That's why we have things like clean drinking water and a functional society.

More to it than that. The children get immediate access and permits to stay. Then the parents can join at a not so later stage on their permit. There is a definite pattern of sending very young children with smugglers/coyotes to get them in. Problem is, they are abused, or...
-
2/ sex trafficked often. They now have basic DNA testing machines to check if the so called 'parent' with the child is related. Roughly 50% since April have not been parents i believe from what I read.
All those children very very vulnerable.

No doubt that many of these people are risking their lives to get away from the cartel violence. I wonder if any have agreed to help with intelligence gathering on the cartels like Berlin in the Cold War.
