By reading the article, I think it's trying to say women are happy when the men are unhappy as it reflects an investment in the relationship. Though the study was very small so I don't think you can draw any real conclusion from it.

A realistic finding is probably more like "women prefer men who are capable of becoming upset". This "study" will massively trigger confirmation bias - as I'm sure it has in Stefan
