America was not a “nation of immigrants.” It was specifically a nation of white immigrants. Facts you don’t like are still facts.

Maybe I'm missing some significant context here Stef but for what reason do you find it preferable to specify that America was a nation of WHITE immigrants? This doesn't appear to move the ball in a direction that's helpful to anyone. Actually, it's kind of fucked up.

In terms of helpful ball direction movement, does that 'anyone' exclude white people? Who are repeatedly demonised today through the infrastructure they built? Or are Stefan's comments at least a nod of appreciation to them?

😂 if they wanted to create a white nation I think they pretty messed up that plan from the start! For one the nations they were leaving were white, they grabbed some black people and then too some lands from Indians! Then again I wouldn't expect people wanting to keep...

America was a nation of settlers. They did not immigrate; they settled, which means they cleared land, planted crops, built forts & towns, and defeated savage tribes intent on their extermination. The immigrants didn't start to come until the late 1840s; by then we were a nation.
