One (such as myself) would also argue a stronger commitment to each other within the sense of marriage would make sex a better influence. I'd argue for abstinence until marriage, but I understand most people nowadays lack the willpower to just wait until stronger commitments.

Interesting. I remember studies done in the 90s where the researchers were surprised to find that men came out ahead in the "I feel bad about myself after a one night stand" category.
