IQ also says NOTHING about character.

Wrong. It does indicate superiority relative to certain endeavors. E.g. one of reasns Japan produces better industrial prducts than US but fewer geniuses is that its av. IQ is higher but its st. deviation is narrower. But spriority in that also goes w. inferiority at other tasks.

Eye roll ... group averages do nothing , you are missing science and data if the best answer you are able to muster is “it helps us get along better”.. quantify, because it can also be grossly misused, and has been- in a means that out weighs a nebulous “get along”

How does IQ relate to wisdom? Is wisdom a thing/metric? My gut feeling is that institutions like the babylon tower, today's equivalent would be EU, are constructed through high IQ, but not through wisdom.
-
I doubt EU has much to do with high iq, probably more about high desire the do 'good' in the world, ie. Narcissism from the rulers. If people actually wanted to do good, they would start by making people be free to help themselves, and only after that help with own effort

Sure you can judge the probability of my IQ by knowing I'm a native Dane, just like you can estimate the height of a person by knowing he is a prof basketball player. But it's just probabilities, which can be fine tuned by meeting the person. I know it's just the phrasing...

... it's correct that we cannot 'know' the iq of a person just by group averages, because there are wild fluctuations across the group.

I wouldn't judge an individual, that wasn't my point. My point was that it makes people uncomfortable to think about race and IQ in that perspective. I realize that IQ as a metric is well defined, but I don't think the studies on race/IQ are quite as robust as they should be.
