It’s both. Meat and potatoes was literally the go-to food since BEFORE Roman days.

Big agriculture fighting the rising popularity of LCHF and Keto. Language give is away 'Hypothesis is a blow to advocates'. It's a hypothesis, not research. Humans are the only primates that can't synthesize B12 which is essential to our big brains and must get it from animals.

In terms of agricultures that can support cities. Very true.

This reminds me of the Woody Allen film 'Sleeper' when Woody is unfrozen and is offered a cigarette by the doctor. Allen refuses saying that those things will kill you, with the doc responding that scientists proved them perfectly healthy. 😁😉

I eat 1/3 carbohydrates, 1/3 fibrous vegetables, and 1/3 protein. Modern office workers eat 1/3 of daily calories in the form of chocolate. I'm sure the other 2/3 is takeaway/fast food too....https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2095195/Average-female-office-worker-consumes-650-calories-day-snacks.html …

Maybe as our physical activity lessened, so did our need for some foods. Thankfully we were created to crave those things we really need.

Plant food as described by the author has more benefits than starch - potassium, magnesium. I would guess that plant food was eaten, cooked or uncooked, for a long time prior to 800k years ago in our evolution.
