I've been following for years, Stefan. And I don't just listen; I check claims myself. As it happens, I was already rather familiar with the subject before I ran across your podcasts.

Having been a long-time member of Mensa (which has among the lowest of requirements). And years ago I considered joining the 4-Sigma Society, but expense and no perceived benefit except bragging rights. I found members to whom I spoke tended toward the insufferably vain.

Whereas my Mensa friends tend to be good people, if not always politically compatible with myself; yet none of them are generally petty or vain.

But one must distinguish between a general group of intelligent people, and a group of intelligent people who want to join a club whose main purpose seems to be advertising that they are intelligent people. Mensa's membership list is confidential.

I don't think 4 Sigma even exists anymore. And I think the reasons are rather obvious.

It seems the successor to 4 sigma today is The Prometheus Society... But I've already taken far more difficult tests than their accepted standards, and I'm just not interested in proving that to anyone anymore.
