Thomas Sowell said that bigotry has different costs, depending on situation. To run an NBA team & reject black players because of personal bigotry would have high costs (lost games & revenues). A racist symphony director who hated Asian strings-players, same. But reversed...?

Unlike the nfl the nba supports the players political stances, goes out of the way to make sure charges of racism are taken seriously, reaches out to minority communities and countries overseas, and embraces popular culture (hip hop, pop...etc).
