I mean a lot of people make a living playing video games, and every year there’s an increasing amount of multimillionaires who just make all this money from video games. I do agree that for most people if their main focus in life is games, they’ll likely fail. But it definitely

Honestly, what we considered careers 30 years ago are mostly replaceable jobs nowadays. Computers and machines become so advanced that a large portion of jobs looks so low skilled. And the welfares are so good that a job doesn't look that rewarding.

A real career, bah. what we want is freedom from the flesh, to live immortal lives as pure information uploaded into cyber space. Were we can travel to infinite virtual worlds or down load or minds into machines that can travel the stars, under the sea etc.

“real career” generally requires that most guys go tens/hundreds of thousands into debt with no hope of paying it off before retiring (if ever) and/or ever being able to buy a home and support a family videogames, casual relationships, and low pressure are safer/cheaper

Nor can they compare to a well maintained relationship or children, or great friends. Also, to be honest, if you are going to game, you really should be playing tabletop RPGs, like Dungeons & Dragons, with real life people that enhances your creativity, social skills, community.
