Ever year 530,000 families file for bankruptcy because of the cost of medical bills. No major country except ours lets private insurance companies financially ruin its own people. It’s time to end this disgrace — it’s time to pass Medicare for All.

I live in Canada, pay more taxes than the average person by far, and I can't even get a family doctor. ~20% of people our city don't have one.

Or they getting great healthcare in Finland, Norway, Holland, Germany etc. It's obvious that you bring up Venezuela so you can make people think that Capitalism is the best thing ever. Most of the world has socialised healthcare USA is lagging behind on this issue.

I live in Sweden. And yes we have waiting lists, but I wouldn’t want the American model. The reason for this is I hav friends who almost died due to not being able to pay their medical bills

I know, let's offer to ship them to Venezuela, at Bernie's expense, to get their great socialized "health-care". Only condition is that they must surrender their US citizenship, permanently.

Interesting, the last stat I saw was 52,500 Canadians going to the US to pay to get healthcare even though they have already paid their taxes into the Canadian system. Proportionately, that would be about 550,000 US citizens going without under Bernie’s model. So no difference.

Forget Venezuela, the whole of Europe has health care systems that dont bankrupt its patients. Something is fundamentally wrong with the US healthcare system.

This will end quickly when 'Upfront Medical Costs' are exposed. I think there will be competitive pricing or people will just walk out.

US has the best healthcare system in the world. Unfortunately, the costs are often artificially inflated. Because of this massive cashflow it is the most advanced (lots of investment in RD and latest technology) ;otoh -often not affordable.

On the UK it's pretty good. Oh yeah and in basically every other developed country in the world Free healthcare does not mean becoming Venezuela.
