“Innocent until proven guilty“ is a valid principle, but we are not dealing with principled people. The left has gone full Orwellian.
“Innocent until proven guilty“ is so important because if people assume guilt based on someone being charged/investigated, reputations can be permanently destroyed by an out-of-control prosecutor. That is WAY too much power. “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire” burns us all down

With 'guilty until proven innocent' someone can be charged/investigated & thereby have their life destroyed by anyone for personal reasons--if a woman is competing with a man for a job she can destroy his chances for the position just by claiming that he sexually harassed her.
