I first became skeptical of feminists when they refused to celebrate Margaret Thatcher, the first female leader of a major western nation. Feminism is just pear-shaped socialism with weird hair and comfortable shoes.

Pfft. There have been loads of female leaders of 'major western nations' before Thatcher. Victoria, Elizabeth I, Boadicea to name but a few.
Yeah I was kinda thinking of elected leaders. Queen Victoria being born into “leadership” doesn’t really make her a leader. It’s like calling someone who inherited his wealth a “self-made entrepreneur.”

Completely agree. This is not about people born into power. There are many women who have that honor. This is about the people choosing them. And Thatcher was incredible. Especially given her background as a grocer’s daughter.
