Oh lord above what bigotry. Up to 1950, 95% of the WORLD’S modern scientific advancements came from white males. Sure, whites stole all that advancement from every other race.😟 Empire-building was disastrous to Europe. How is France faring under the legacy of ruling Algiers?https://twitter.com/sankrant/status/1132333015353315330 …

The problem stems from your ignorance about other cultures and Eurocentric narratives. Europe's achievements and wealth are largely stolen, it is after colonizing others that Europe starts to "progress", on stealing knowledge and erasing its origins.

I know for a fact Newton stole calculus from the pigmies and Pasteur stole homogenization from the Inuit.

pretty sure the renaissance came before any colonising, because it gave them the technology to make colonising possible...

As Isaac Newton said that we (the scientists) stand on shoulders of giants. No developments start from scratch. Look for the chain of those giants - spread all over the world; no monopoly of people from only one region.

The most vital avenue for various civilizations advancing was The Silk Road. When the Dar-al-Islam shut down infidel access to it, it helped start the Dark Ages in Europe and the Chinese Empire would stagnate. Columbus sailed west in an attempt to establish a naval version.

If the KNOWLEDGE other countries possessed had been of ANY VALUE it would have made them into beautiful, thriving places that everybody wanted to live in instead of places people desperately want to avoid.

Family relative of mine was sent to teach in algeria. In the end he and his wife had to flee for their lives. "You're either leaving with your luggage or in a casket" they were told. La valise ou le cercueil.

I usually don't support other countries nationalism but God damn is a good feeling to pop the arrogance when former colonies buys up some of the biggest UK companies. I'm quite happy eventhough it's not my countrypic.twitter.com/43cjyDSuxO
