In the US, slavery lasted a grand total of 71 years; earlier slaves were the responsibility of the British. Slavery was widely practised by the indigenous population before Christians ended it. America: fewest slaves, shortest duration. America: most blamed. Frack guilt.

Slavery would still be going if the states of the Confederacy had anything to say about it.

Slavery by both Americans and our European ancestors lasted for 400 years. Americans continued the practice long after our European forebears discontinued it. Most Southern states and our police force still treat African Americans as second class citizens in 2019.

Don't forget that many US states banned slavery in their own state constitutions within a decade of Independence with even some states banning slavery BEFORE they had even joined the US (Vermont).

71 years? I’d like to see your source for this number. And if verifiable I’d gladly share it as well.

1865-1776=89 years. Not sure where 71 comes from but it’s still a pretty good point.

Slavery is alive and well. A bit rebranded, but the notion of aquiring foriegners for below poverty wage, indefinitely, is stronger than ever. Turns out the issue wasn't slavery at all. It was that the public preferred slavery with emotional sprinkles.

Turning the head to practice of it overseas. They lie about our history, rewrite it in the fly and if one follows the money, then it becomes apparent. Do they approve? Often, what MSM/Marxists don’t say, that is so telling of their philosophies.
