These kinds of studies are such garbage – if anyone genuinely knew the future prices of things, he would just make a killing on the stock market by shorting companies. It’s like climate change – if you knew the economic impacts, you could make a fortune and fund the solution.https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1131702620807225346 …

I do know the future prices of things. And I only talk about it sometimes. But the solutions....they are boring and not very profitable. The other stuff you would assume are obviously true as well. But you mostly make more being long good companies, it takes less propaganda.

Sorry, but the stuff I spend MOST of my money on - real estate payments, insurance, medical, taxes, fuel - has pretty much ZERO Chinese content to be affected by tariffs. Doubling my nil Chinese trinket budget doesn't amount to squat.

The highest tariffs are 25%. The highest tariffs raise the cost to consumers.... wait for it... 25%. These sort of nonsense studies exist to reaffirm beliefs of the stupid and the intellectual posers.

How are people supposed to predict the tariffs that the USFG will levy and/or the amount of time they will stay? As soon as tariffs are announced, the stock prices do indeed drop. The only way you would short the stock would be if you somehow knew when and how tariffs would rise.

If they were as concerned about climate as they pretend they'd be buying land inland at various predicted levels of sea level rise to make several killings, in a row, selling future beachfront property.

And, if you attribute climate change to an anthropogenic cause you can direct resources and increase the bureaucracy to “manage”.

Maybe not, but tariffs are a tax passed on to consumers.
