The fact that women will get abortions even if abortions are banned is NOT an argument against banning abortion. It’s like saying that there’s no point making murder illegal, because people will still murder. The law should reflect morality. “Women want it” is not an argument.

So what inherently says what the punishment for abortion should be? Clearly you’d support the death penalty for something that’s “obviously” equivalent to first degree murder, right?

I think it’s a fair point. As someone who leans pro-life, like myself, what is the “true” moral position in regard to punishment for abortion? Is it entirely relative to the punishment for murder?
