I’m curious about the demographics of HR departments in America, does anyone know where this information might be available?

I’ve found HR people to be real tattletails.

Their objective is not to protect you, but the company. Once you understand their motivation, you can use it to your advantage.

I work in HR, and I can confirm that it is heavily female centric, about 75%. It can be hard to get a job as a male, especially in govt. There are a few infographics out there, from http://workforce.com  or the BLS, but I'd like to see a truly comprehensive report as well.

I’d love to see that data too. My hunch is that HR departments are disproportionally female, young, and have degrees in liberal arts or various grievance studies.

I can only speak for the companies I’ve been connected to and they were mostly women most of them black.

Hi @aaron_clarey and @StefanMolyneux I’m an HR program graduate. Me and one other guy were the only men in the class. Now I work in finance and smallbiz. HR departments are mostly female. Lots of men work in HR as headhunters though.

Even here in Germany it’s at least 80% women, and quite often left-leaning leaning and childless ones. It’s sublimation of their maternal instincts that they sacrificed for a career in paper pushing.
